Summer Fun

As a lot of us have probably been reflecting on the last few months of transitioning (RAPIDLY) into doing school at home, it was overwhelming to say the least, right? But every time the majority of us reflect, we probably don’t reflect about working with 17 children on school at home, right? When things were difficult in our house personally (with only 3 children), I kept remembering that I only have THREE, not SEVENTEEN!
A week or so ago we went to visit the Home for At Risk Children and saw that the Tias and Tios, as you can imagine, are overwhelmed and they are tired. The kids are tired of being cooped up. So, we talked with our project coordinator, Rolando to ask how we could help.
We came up with a plan that we can hopefully execute to give some relief to the helpers in the Home, fun and interaction with the children in the Home and just give some encouragement.
Would you like to possibly help with this endeavor? This will be extra expenses that we haven’t budgeted for, but we really think it is a priority. Here are the ideas of what we want to do:
Each week, on Thursdays we will be doing an activity. The activities we hope to do include:
Movie Night with popcorn
Take everyone out to a movie at the theater (depending on COVID-19)
Game Night with board games
Make your own pizza and sundae night
If you would like to be involved, please go to the link below and donate. Please make sure to specify in the donation that it is for “Summer Fun”.
