Thank you Indiana Wesleyan OTs!
This past week we had the privilege of working with Doctoral Occupational Therapy students from Indiana Wesleyan University and Pharm D student from Cedarville University. Although travel mishaps started the trip with some anxiety and stretching of comfort zones, the trip was phenomenal! They worked in a school for the disabled in Cayambe each morning and partnered with Occupational Therapists from Ecuador to serve under served disabled. The OTs work with government agencies to do home visits to help families take initiative in caring, supporting and encouraging their disabled family members. It was exciting to see all of these professionals in action, serving together and encouraging one another. They learned from each other and taught one another which really is the goal of why we work with teams. They learned about culture, community and service and what that looks like in partnership. It truly was an honor to serve together with great people who are going to change the world and we are thankful that we get to have a small part to play in their journey.
