My name is Isolina and my children Pedro, Josue and Maria are a part of the Prevention Program. We live in Pambamarca de Cangahua, which is a farming community. My husband is a day laborer; sometimes he works the land and sometimes in construction. Because of the situation we are going through, the staff of the project in Cayambe support us. My children attend the local school.
For those of us who work in the fields, life can be difficult. From a very early age our parents and grandparents had taught us to work and so we teach our children the same thing. Thanks to the staff of the project we have understood that we must support our children and utilize the skills each one of us have in order to take care of each other.
My children have been learning so much! Each one, like corn or barley grains, grow in their own unique way. The staff of the project have been able to reach out to them and have helped them to feel understood. We have learned that it is very important to go to school so that way when our children grow up they can have a better opportunity in life. I can't help them much because I never went to school.
I want to thank God for the project in Cayambe as they have helped us so much and I hope they will continue to support the community and other people who need it.
We are now in our final push to raise the full amount needed for our Stories of Dignity campaign. The total amount that we still need to raise is only $3,445. Can you help us get what we need to help in sustaining our ministries in Cayambe?
