Partnership in Action: Cedarville University Edition
This past week we had the opportunity to partner with two fabulous students from Cedarville University’s School of Pharmacy! They served together with different programs in the Cayambe area and beyond for more of an inter-exchange of knowledge and wisdom. They worked with different indigenous (Kichwa ) community members to learn customs, traditions and natural remedies that have been used for illnesses for centuries. They were also able to learn from a midwife from the communities who uses different natural medicines to help women during childbirth and after. They were able to share their knowledge in the communities through teaching and education as well as in the Medical Clinic to better utilize medications there. One of our partner leaders in Pisambilla (you may remember her from the Forever Flowers video, Olimpia) shared her knowledge as a naturopath of how to use different plants and herbs to treat common pains and ailments. We are so grateful that Emma and McKenzie took time away from their Spring Break when they could have been relaxing, to learn culture, tradition and partnership through an interexchange of information. Here are some pictures to enjoy from the week!
