Thank you so much for all of your support!

My name is Ronaldo. I am 18 years old. My younger brothers and I are in the Intervention program because my youngest brother, who is barely one year old, was diagnosed with severe malnutrition and he was admitted to a hospital in Quito. Later, he was placed into the Casa Hogar.

We live with our parents in the community of Pambamarca in the country. We have an hour to walk to school. We have to take a bus that takes an hour and a half to the nearest health center. In terms of transportation, the bus only arrives three times during the day.

The authorities have seen different problems within our community, such as alcohol consumption and teenage pregnancies.

My parents, my brothers and I have received the attention of the ladies of the Intervention Program. They have helped us freceive the delivery of groceries every month. They also help us with workshops with other families on discipline, good habits and, above all, how important it is to be responsible for the nutrition and hygiene of children.

They hold meetings with the family and we commit ourselves and if we have difficulties they have been there to help guide us. Despite being far away, the ladies have not stopped visiting us, visiting the school and going with us to medical appointments.

As for me, even though I got a job, they insist that I should not stop studying. At the beginning I felt like they did not understand. But now that we talk about my goals and my dreams in life, it becomes more real because many of us stop asking ourselves what we want to do in life and how to pursue our dreams.
