Yesterday, Rolando Escola, our Project Director, signed another year’s agreement with the Ecuadorian government to serve in partnership with our project. Yesterday’s signing was to commit to this year’s collaboration with the Prevention Program. In the coming weeks, he will also be signing one for the one year commitment with both the Home for At Risk Children and the Intervention Program. These are the same commitments that we have had with the Ecuadorian government the past two years; however, each agreement is by year and thus must be re-signed each calendar year. Until recently when a new Ecuadorian president was elected, these commitments and their signing have been a little bit in flux. Now, that this first commitment has been signed and the other two will soon be signed, we feel much greater stability in our plans for this year. Additionally, having this agreement signed makes it easier for us to receive the container of medical and farming supplies that we are planning on receiving in the coming months.
